What is Primary Clay? What is Residual Clay? Classification of Clay.


Clay may broadly divide into two types, one is Primary Clay and another one is Secondary Clay.

Primary Clay or Residual Clay: The primary or residual clay are those, which are founds on the original beds where they formed by decomposition of the parent rocks. They vary widely in color.
Example: Kaolin or China Clay, Literate etc.
